Foreign Teacher Ben Wins 400-M Dash

Foreign teacher, Ben Bruckner, won the 400 meter race in the Sports Competition at Shaanxi University of Science and Technology (SUST) on April 24th, 2013.
Following the opening ceremony, spectators watched 4 heats of runners complete this race. Ben was in the last heat and out-ran the other runners.
After a comparison of times, it was decided that Ben had won against the competitors of all 4 heats.
Ben has been teaching at SUST since September 2012. He teaches English majors Oral English and History. He is from Chicago, IL.
Steven Runs for Crowds in SUST

SUST’s only ABC (American Born Chinese) teacher Steven Guo came in 6th place overall for the 800m race on April 26th 2013. Steven Guo does not teach ABCs at SUST’s primary school, but is an American Born Chinese (ABC) from Atlanta, Georgia.
Drawing from both his family’s Chinese heritage and American culture, Steven teaches Business English at SUST’s Business College. Coming from the hometown of the standard for American English-Atlanta, Georgia, Steven spends his spare time running.
He recently organized an official Hash Run for foreigners through the Xianese Magazine in Xi’an and also ran in the 5k Race during the Xi’an International Marathon on the city wall.
When asked to comment on the race he said, “It was a beautiful day to run.” With not a cloud in the sky many spectators used their parasols to keep cool.
Per the event he said, “It was fun to run in front of so many people.” the stadium holds over 2,000 people and was packed during the Annual three day long Field Day, also commonly referred to as the Sport’s Meeting.
Contestants from nearly every College on the SUST campus took part. Students, teachers, and administrators all enjoyed the event’s proceedings.
